There are the ones who like to rough it out with the simple backpack camping equipment and take to the roads on foot to trek to their camping destinations with a simple tent and a sleeping bag and some cooking equipment. However, in modern times the very definition of camping has changed. We have motorcycle camping, motor camping and what not.
The concept of pitching a tent is also fast becoming a thing of the past with people opting for log huts in the various camping parks across the U.S. RV camping is also fast catching on across the globe with people choosing to buy their vehicles or just renting them. You can plan a RV camping trip to suit any budget, there is no dearth of ways you can enjoy a RV camping vacation, nor is there any dearth of the number or types of RV camping equipment available. The budget will depend on the place you want to visit and the comfort level you are wiling to settle for.
Let us start with the RV itself. You can choose a 'motor home', trailer, or a caravan to tow along behind your car or off-roader. Many enterprising individuals are converting old cans and small busses or trucks into recreational vehicles. Some of these RVs can be pretty well equipped complete with an electric generator, TV, fridge and the works. So comfort may not be a problem if you are willing to pay the price for it.
Many people will not equate RV camping with conventional camping, in fact, they take it as a downright insult if RV camping is even associated with the word 'camping'. But then there are people who have a different opinion and choose to call it 'RV camping' instead.
RV camping is like having all the comforts of your living room with you out in the wilderness. Unlike the backpack and tent campers who have to cook their food over a campfire and tuck themselves away in a sleeping bag rather than a bunk in a camper. RV equipment includes, ovens, televisions, fridges and the makes, this makes it a pretty expensive form of camping if you have to buy all your equipment, even renting the stuff is more expensive than buying your own backpack type conventional equipment. However, there are many people who will opt for this kind of camping equipment.
